The “I dos” are done.
The wedding was beyond fabulous. The bride was luminous, the groom dashing, the families delighted, the flower girls too precious for words.
In a stunning display of restraint, my husband and I limited our jubilation to a simple fist-bump after he lateraled her off to the groom, and maybe a discrete tear or two into soggy cocktail napkins. How could we be sad? We weren’t losing a daughter, but gaining a wood-splitter and general all around good person.
(I know what you’re thinking. But since they’ll be living on the opposite coast, it might be years before he realizes the truth about us.)
But now it’s over and we’re back in the valley, turning into jerky in the 100-plus degree heat and watching lightning fires blossom across the dry hills. This afternoon, my husband and the stinky hound dog are going fishing while I settle in at the computer to create profound prose.
It’s nice to be back.
The wedding was fabulous! And you & Joe behaved yourselves quite well! I was REALLY impressed – I’ve seen you two in action before!!
Talk to you soon!!!

Yay! I still want to see pics!!!
My husband and I fist bumped on the alter after our kiss 🙂 The “audience” got a kick out of it–hehe
I have to say (tho- should my daughter ask… I will deny that I did…) that it was truly one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever attended.
I mean- right out of ‘beautifull bride’ magazine 🙂
And personally I think Joe’s toast was poetic… no really!
